Passport required.
Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date.
Passports with manually extended validity or which have been manually modified are not accepted.
This does not apply to passports issued to passengers (except nationals of Sudan) who are:
- younger than 18 years; and
- if the passport contains an extended machine-issued sticker valid for a minimum of 6 months on arrival.
Visa required.
Nationals of Germany with a normal passport or a national ID card if traveling as tourists and arriving on a direct flight at Sharm El Sheik (SSH), Saint Catherine (SKV) or Taba (TCP) and remaining in the Sinai resorts for a maximum stay of 15 days.
Wives of Egyptian nationals.
Accepted proof of Egyptian nationality is: (copy of) a birth certificate, passport or national ID card of the relative.
Sons and daughters born to an Egyptian father.
Accepted proof of Egyptian nationality is: (copy of) a birth certificate, passport or national ID card of the relative.
Sons and daughters of an Egyptian mother if born after 25 July 2004.
Accepted proof of Egyptian nationality is: (copy of) a birth certificate, passport or national ID card of the relative.
E-visas for passengers traveling as tourist can be obtained before departure at https://www.visa2egypt.gov.eg. Passengers must have a printed e-visa confirmation.
Nationals of Germany with a normal passport traveling as tourists can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 30 days. They can apply to extend their stay.
Passengers with a travel document with gender "U" or "X" must have confirmation that their entry has been approved before departure by the Ministry of Interior.
