Philippines - Destination Passport

Passports issued to nationals of the Philippines who reside outside the Philippines must be valid on arrival.

Recommended Health and Vaccination precautions:

Malaria prophylaxis: malaria risk exists throughout the year in areas below 600 meters, except in the provinces of Aklan, Albay, Benguet, Biliran, Bohol, Camiguin, Capiz, Catanduanes, Cavite, Cebu, Guimaras, Iloilo, Northern Leyte, Southern Leyte, Marinduque, Masbate, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Western Samar, Siquijor, Sorsogon, Surigao Del Norte and metropolitan Manila. No risk is considered to exist in urban areas or in the plains. Human P. knowlesi infection reported in the province of Palawan. Recommended prevention in risk areas: C.

The WHO recommended type of prevention is referred to as:
- Type A (very limited risk of malaria transmission) - Mosquito bite prevention only.
- Type B (risk of non-falciparum malaria) - Mosquito-bite prevention plus chloroquine or doxycycline or atovaquone-proguanil or mefloquine chemoprophylaxis.
- Type C (risk of P. falciparum malaria) - Mosquito-bite prevention plus atovaquone-proguanil or doxycycline or mefloquine chemoprophylaxis.
Chemoprophylaxis should be started preferably one week before departure and no later than the first day of exposure; it must be taken with unfailing regularity and continued for 4 weeks after the last exposure. No prophylactic regimen is 100% protective against infection, but even if it fails to prevent the disease it may, nevertheless, render the infection milder and less life threatening.

Australia - Transit Visa

Visa required.

Transiting without a visa is possible for:

Nationals of Philippines transiting through Perth (PER) with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 8 hours. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.
- TWOV does not apply when transiting between T1/T2 and T3/T4 at Perth (PER).

Nationals of Philippines transiting through Cairns (CNS) or Sydney (SYD) with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 8 hours on the same calendar day. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.

Nationals of Philippines transiting through Adelaide (ADL) with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 8 hours on the same calendar day. When transiting on different aircraft, the airline must give advance notice. They must have documents required for the next destination.

Nationals of Philippines transiting through Gold Coast (OOL) with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 2 hours or arriving and departing on the same aircraft. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.

Nationals of Philippines transiting through Brisbane (BNE), Darwin (DRW) or Melbourne (MEL) with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 8 hours. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.

Additional information:

Airlines can verify the status of an electronic visa holder by using Australia's Advance Passenger Processing (APP) system before boarding the aircraft. Verification by airlines using Australia's Advance Passenger Processing (APP) system will require the details of the travel document that the visa is issued against.
