China - Destination Passport

Passport required.

Document validity rules:

Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid on arrival.

The following regulations apply to children/minors:

Passport not required for children traveling with a parent or guardian if being registered in the passport of the companion.

Important:

Passengers must complete an "Exit/Entry Health Declaration Form" and present a QR code before departure. The form can be obtained at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn/htdeclweb/home/pages/index/index.html or from the WeChat app 'Customs Passenger Fingertip Service'.

Passengers entering or transiting through China (People's Rep.) must have a negative COVID-19 NAAT, PCR, rapid antigen test (including home testing kit) or RT-PCR test taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. Airlines are not required to check the test result.

This does not apply to passengers younger than 3 years.

This does not apply to passengers arriving on a direct flight from Macao (SAR China).

This does not apply to passengers younger than 4 years arriving on a direct flight from Hong Kong (SAR China).

This does not apply to passengers arriving from Hong Kong (SAR China) who in the past 7 days have only been in China (People's Rep.), Hong Kong (SAR China) and Macao (SAR China).

Passengers with an APEC Business Travel Card must travel with a passport. The passport number and nationality must match those stated on the card. The card must be valid for travel to "CHN".

China - Destination Visa

Visa required.

The following are exempt from holding a visa:

Passengers with an APEC Business Travel Card valid for travel to "CHN".

Tourists traveling in a group organized by a Chinese international tour operator or registered travel agency for a maximum stay of 6 days if:
- arriving from Hong Kong or Macao to take a trip to the Zhujiang Delta in Guangdong province; and
- arriving at/departing from Dongguan (DGM), Guangzhou (CAN), Huizhou (HUZ), Shantou (SWA), Shenzhen (SZX) or Zhuhai (ZUH); and
- being a national of a country having diplomatic relations with China (People's Rep.).

Visa issuance:

Passengers with a Port Visa Notification can obtain a visa on arrival at the port which issued the notification.

Passengers traveling as tourists can obtain a visa on arrival at Shenzhen (SZX) for a maximum stay of 5 days. They must not leave Shenzhen during their stay. Before departure, the carrier must notify the local immigration and obtain approval.

Additional information:

Passengers traveling to Tibet must hold a special Tibet Entry Permit.

The following regulations apply to children/minors:

An individual visa is not required for children traveling on the passport of a parent or guardian, if their name is endorsed in the visa of the passport holder.

Important:

Visitors not holding return/onward tickets could be refused entry.
