Passports issued to nationals of India must be valid on arrival.
Passengers arriving from Guinea, Liberia, Mali and Sierra Leone at Bangalore (BLR), Chennai (MAA) ,Cochin (COK), Delhi (DEL), Hyderabad (HYD), Kolkata (CCU) or Mumbai (BOM) are subject to enhanced passenger screening and medical checks.
Passengers could be subject to a test upon arrival.
This does not apply to passengers younger than 12 years.
Nationals of India with a passport that contains a stamp 'extended by the issue of fresh booklet' must travel with the new booklet.
Visa not required.
India does not permit dual nationality for nationals of India. An Indian national with dual nationality must contact the embassy/high commission for further information.

Nationals of India with a normal passport transiting through Paris (CDG), arriving from a non-Schengen Member State with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight within 24 hours to a third country which is not a Schengen Member State. They must:
- have a visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, Romania or USA, and
- stay in the international transit area of the airport, and
- have documents required for their next destination.
Nationals of India with a normal passport transiting through Paris (CDG), arriving from a non-Schengen Member State with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight within 24 hours to a third country which is not a Schengen Member State. They must:
- have a used, valid or expired visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, Romania or USA (an expired visa is accepted if it is valid when departing from the country that issued the visa), and
- be returning from the country that issued the visa, and
- stay in the international transit area of the airport, and
- have documents required for their next destination.
Nationals of India with a normal passport transiting through Paris (ORY), arriving from a non-Schengen Member State with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight between 06:00 and 23:30 to a third country which is not a Schengen Member State. They must:
- have a visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, Romania or USA, and
- stay in the international transit area of the airport, and
- have documents required for their next destination.
Nationals of India with a normal passport transiting through Paris (ORY), arriving from a non-Schengen Member State with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight between 06:00 and 23:30 to a third country which is not a Schengen Member State. They must:
- have a used, valid or expired visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, Romania or USA (an expired visa is accepted if it is valid when departing from the country that issued the visa), and
- be returning from the country that issued the visa, and
- stay in the international transit area of the airport, and
- have documents required for their next destination.
Nationals of India with a normal passport transiting through Nice (NCE), arriving from a non-Schengen Member State with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight between 04:00 and 23:00 to a third country which is not a Schengen Member State. They must:
- have a visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, Romania or USA, and
- stay in the international transit area of the airport, and
- have documents required for their next destination.
- TWOV does not apply when transiting between terminals 1 and 2.
Nationals of India with a normal passport transiting through Nice (NCE), arriving from a non-Schengen Member State with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight between 04:00 and 23:00 to a third country which is not a Schengen Member State. They must:
- have a used, valid or expired visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, Romania or USA (an expired visa is accepted if it is valid when departing from the country that issued the visa), and
- be returning from the country that issued the visa, and
- stay in the international transit area of the airport, and
- have documents required for their next destination.
- TWOV does not apply when transiting between terminals 1 and 2.
Nationals of India with a normal passport transiting through Marseille (MRS), arriving from a non-Schengen Member State with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight on the same calendar day to a third country which is not a Schengen Member State. Airlines must notify Immigration before arrival and passengers must:
- have a visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, Romania or USA, and
- stay in the international transit area of the airport, and
- have documents required for their next destination.
- TWOV does not apply when transiting between terminals 1 and 2.

Warning:
When transiting through France with an expired visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, Romania or USA, the visa must be valid when departing from the country that issued the visa.
